DELE study plan for the Spanish exam
The DELE is the official Spanish diploma from the Instituto Cervantes, it never expires, and you pass or fail it as a whole. This prompt has your todo.is agent plan your weeks for your level, practise each of the four tasks with official model exams, and correct your written tasks so you know what still loses marks.

Check the format for my level on the Instituto Cervantes site (with links): parts, timing and how you pass. Prepare me for the oral exam with practice topics and timing. Add two full mock exams from the official model papers. Give me an Excel plan and send a reminder on Telegram at [TIME] on study days.
What to change
- [LEVEL]: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2. B2 is common for university and work.
- [EXAM DATE]: One of the exam dates at your centre. Registration closes weeks before.
- [CURRENT LEVEL]: E.g. "B1 certificate from school, can hold a conversation but grammar errors".
- [WEEKLY HOURS]: E.g. "6".
- [WEAKEST PART]: E.g. "listening" or "writing formal texts".
- [TIME]: E.g. "19:30".

- The B2 exam
- • Reading comprehension (Comprensión de lectura)
- • Listening comprehension (Comprensión auditiva)
- • Written expression and interaction (Expresión e interacción escritas): two tasks
- • Oral expression and interaction (Expresión e interacción orales): with prep time before you speak
- • The parts are scored in two groups (reading plus writing, listening plus speaking) and you need a minimum in each group. Check the current rules on the Instituto Cervantes site.
- Weekly rhythm (6 h)
- • 2 h listening (your weak part): radio news, interviews, model exam audio
- • 1.5 h reading with timed tasks
- • 1.5 h writing: 2 tasks, rewritten after correction
- • 1 h speaking: monologue on a topic, then answering follow-up questions
- Weeks 1 to 3
- • Listening: one model exam task a day, then read the transcript and mark what you missed
- • Grammar: present and imperfect subjunctive after opinion and emotion (es importante que, me alegra que, si tuviera…)
- • Writing: formal letter of complaint, opinion article
- Weeks 4 to 6
- • Connectors for writing and speaking: sin embargo, por lo tanto, a pesar de que, en cambio
- • Oral: practise describing a situation from a photo and giving your opinion for 2 to 3 minutes
- • Mock exam 1 at the end of week 6
- Weeks 7 to 10
- • Work on the part with the lowest mock score

- • "Espero que el problema se resuelve pronto" → se resuelva (subjunctive after esperar que)
- • "Pienso que es muy importante de leer" → es muy importante leer (no "de")
- • Add one counter-argument paragraph: B2 expects you to weigh both sides.
How to do it with todo.is

Tips for a better result
- Practise listening with transcripts. Listen once, answer, then read along to see what you missed.
- Learn formal register for writing tasks (usted, estimado/a, le agradecería que…).
- In the oral exam, use your prep time to note key ideas and connectors, not full sentences.
- Register early. Dates and seats at each centre are limited.
DELE study plan: FAQ
- Does the DELE expire? No. DELE diplomas are issued by the Instituto Cervantes and do not expire.
- How long does it take to prepare for the DELE B2? From a solid B1, many learners need 2 to 4 months of regular study, especially to get used to the exam tasks and timing.
- Can I get a score for each part? You get results for each part, but the final result is pass (apto) or fail (no apto), based on the minimum scores for each group.
- Can todo.is practise the oral exam with me? Your agent can give you topics and questions, time you, and comment on a voice note transcript. It cannot run a live conversation like the examiner.
