Your Petra and Amman itinerary, with Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea
Jordan looks small on a map, but Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea are hours apart and Petra alone deserves two days. This prompt asks your todo.is agent to set the order, the drives and the hikes inside Petra, and to point out where the Jordan Pass may save money for your trip.
The prompt
- Plan a [NUMBER OF DAYS]-day Jordan trip covering Amman and Petra for [WHO IS TRAVELLING], arriving at Amman airport on [ARRIVAL DATE]. We'll get around by [TRANSPORT]. In Amman include the Citadel, the Roman Theatre, Rainbow Street and a day trip to Jerash. In Petra plan two days: the Siq and Treasury, the Monastery hike and the High Place of Sacrifice, plus Petra by Night if it runs. Also add [EXTRA STOPS]. Our fitness level is [FITNESS]. Give drive times, where to sleep each night (2 options with links), and whether the Jordan Pass is worth it for us. Email me a PDF. Don't book anything.

Tips for a better result
- Sleep in Wadi Musa for at least two nights so you can enter Petra at opening time both days.
- Do the Monastery on its own day. After a full first day the steps feel much harder.
- Ask your agent to compare the Desert Highway and the King's Highway. One is fast, the other passes Madaba, Mount Nebo and Kerak.
- Buy the Jordan Pass before you land if you qualify. Your agent can check the nights-in-Jordan rule for your dates.
Petra and Amman itinerary: FAQ
- How many days do you need for Petra? One day shows you the Siq, the Treasury and the main valley. Two days lets you add the Monastery and the High Place of Sacrifice without rushing.
- Is it better to stay in Amman or Petra? Both. Spend one or two nights in Amman for the city and Jerash, then at least two in Wadi Musa next to Petra. Doing Petra as a day trip from Amman means about 6 hours of driving.
- Is the Jordan Pass worth it? Usually yes if you visit Petra and stay long enough to qualify for the visa waiver. Check the current conditions on the official site.
- Can todo.is plan the whole Jordan trip, not just Amman and Petra? Yes. Add Aqaba, Dana or the Dead Sea to the prompt and your agent will fit them into the route.
