Cinque Terre itinerary: five villages by trail, train and boat
The five villages are only minutes apart by train, but crowds, trail closures and the heat make timing everything. This prompt asks your todo.is agent to check which coastal paths are open on your dates, order the villages to dodge the midday rush, and pick the right Cinque Terre Card for you.
The prompt
- Make a Cinque Terre itinerary for [NUMBER OF DAYS] days, [TRAVEL DATES], for [WHO IS TRAVELLING]. We'll stay in [BASE]. Cover Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Check which coastal trails are open now, which need a Cinque Terre Card and which need booking, and suggest hikes for [HIKING LEVEL]. Tell me which card to buy and when the ferries run. Add a sunset spot each night, one swim spot per day, and [EXTRAS]. Our interests: [INTERESTS]. Include where to eat pesto, focaccia and Monterosso anchovies. Send a PDF with the plan, trains and links. Don't book anything.

Tips for a better result
- Hike early, from Monterosso towards Vernazza, before cruise and coach groups arrive around 10:00.
- Buy the Treno card if you'll use the train more than three or four times a day. Otherwise the Trekking card is enough.
- Stay in one of the five villages for the evenings. Once day-trippers leave, they're quiet and beautiful.
- Ask your agent to message you each morning on WhatsApp with that day's trail status.

- Are the Cinque Terre trails open? Some sections close for repairs or after bad weather, and some popular ones may need a booking. Check the Cinque Terre National Park site before you go.
- Is there a beach in Cinque Terre? Monterosso has the only real sandy beach. Elsewhere you swim from rocks, small coves or the harbours.
