Your daily email digest, delivered before you open Gmail
Checking email all day breaks your focus. With this recurring to-do your todo.is agent reads your new Gmail once a day at a time you choose and sends one short digest to your phone: what needs you, what changed, and what you can ignore. You check your inbox on purpose, not out of habit.
The prompt
- Every [DAYS AND TIME], read the new emails in my Gmail since the last digest and send me a daily email digest on [WHERE TO SEND]. Keep it under 250 words. Start with Action needed: emails where someone is waiting for me, with the sender, the ask and the deadline. Then Updates: replies in threads I started, shipping notices, payments and calendar changes, one line each. Then a count of what you skipped (promotions, social, newsletters). Always include anything from [ALWAYS INCLUDE]. Ignore [ALWAYS IGNORE]. If nothing needs me, just say "Nothing urgent today". Link each item to the Gmail thread. Do not reply to or change anything.
What to change
- [DAYS AND TIME]: e.g. "weekday at 7:30" or "day at 8:00 and 17:00" for two digests.
- [WHERE TO SEND]: WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord or email.
- [ALWAYS INCLUDE]: e.g. "my bank, my kids' school and anyone at @clientco.com".
- [ALWAYS IGNORE]: e.g. "GitHub notifications and the #general Slack digest".

How to do it with todo.is
- Connect Google in todo.is so your agent can read your Gmail.
- Copy the prompt, pick your days, time and channel, and say who must always be included.
- Paste it into todo.is. It becomes a recurring to-do that runs on its own.
- Reply to the digest on WhatsApp or Telegram to ask for more, like "draft a reply to Rosa".
- Change the schedule or rules anytime, for example "skip weekends" or "add a 17:00 digest".
Tips for a better result
- One digest in the morning and one at the end of the day is enough for most people. More often, and it turns into another inbox.
- Keep a hard word limit. A digest you can read in 30 seconds is one you will actually read.
- Put your kids' school, your bank and your top clients in the always-include list so they never get lost in a busy day.
- Each run uses a few AI credits, so pick a schedule that fits how often you really need it.
daily email digest: FAQ
- What is a daily email digest? It is one short message a day that sums up your new emails: what needs action, important updates and what you can skip. You read one message instead of checking your inbox again and again.
- Can I get my email digest on WhatsApp? Yes. Your todo.is agent can deliver the digest on WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord or by email.
- Does Gmail have a daily digest feature? Gmail has a Summary card and tabs that sort mail, but no scheduled daily recap sent to another app. A recurring to-do in todo.is fills that gap.
- Can I pause the digest when I am on vacation? Yes. Tell your agent to pause it, or change the schedule, and turn it back on when you return.
