Portfolio website builder: case studies, about and contact on one link
Clients and hiring managers spend about a minute on a portfolio, so it needs your best work up front and a clear story for each project. Send your todo.is agent your projects, images and a few facts about you. It writes short case studies, designs a clean, image-first portfolio and publishes it with a link you can put on your CV.
The prompt
- Build a portfolio website for me: [YOUR NAME AND ROLE]. Feature these projects: [PROJECTS] (images attached). For each one write a short case study: the problem, my role, what I did and the result. Add an about section from [ABOUT ME] and contact via [CONTACT DETAILS]. Style: [STYLE]. I want to attract [WHO SHOULD HIRE YOU]. Make it image-first, fast on phones, accessible (alt text, good contrast) with a clear page title. Publish it, send me the link, and tell me which project to put first and why.
What to change
- [YOUR NAME AND ROLE]: E.g. "Priya Raman, freelance UX designer" or "Marco Bellini, wedding photographer".
- [PROJECTS]: 3-6 projects with a line each, e.g. "redesign of a pharmacy app, onboarding cut from 9 to 4 screens". Attach images or a folder.
- [ABOUT ME]: A few facts: experience, specialties, tools, where you're based, a personal note. Or attach your CV.
- [CONTACT DETAILS]: E.g. "email and LinkedIn", "a booking link", "WhatsApp".
- [STYLE]: E.g. "minimal, black and white, large images", "warm and playful".
- [WHO SHOULD HIRE YOU]: E.g. "in-house design teams at health startups", "couples planning weddings in Tuscany".
Example result

- Minimal, black and white, large images · aimed at in-house teams at health startups
- Home
- • Intro line: "I design health apps people actually finish setting up."
- • Four project tiles with a large image, title and one-line result
- • Buttons: See my work and Email me
- Case study 1 (put first): MedMinder onboarding
- • Problem: 58% of new users quit during a 9-screen onboarding
- • My role: lead UX designer, with one PM and two engineers, 10 weeks
- • What I did: 12 user interviews with older patients, mapped every question to a real need, cut the flow to 4 screens, moved insurance details to later, and tested two prototypes in Figma with 8 users
- • Result: onboarding completion rose from 42% to 71% in the first month after launch
- • Images: before/after flow, two key screens, a photo from testing (faces blurred)
- Why first: it matches exactly what health startups hire for, and it has a clear before/after number.
- Case study 2: Clinic booking for a physiotherapy chain
- Problem, role, process and result in the same four-part format, with a short note on the accessibility audit (WCAG 2.1 AA).
- Case studies 3 and 4
- A design system for a telehealth start-up (42 components, used across 3 apps) and a concept project on medication reminders, clearly labelled as a personal project.

How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and add your name, projects, about details, contact and style.
- Attach project images (or a zip) and your CV in todo.is, or send them to your agent.
- Your agent writes the case studies, builds the site and sends you the public link.
- Read every case study for accuracy, then put the link on your CV, LinkedIn and email signature.
- Send new projects as you finish them: "add this as case study 5".
Tips for a better result
- Show 3 to 6 strong projects, not everything. Reviewers judge you by the weakest one too.
- Lead with a result: a number, a quote or a before/after. It's what people remember.
- Get permission before showing client work, and blur or remove confidential details.
- Label personal or concept projects clearly. It's fine to have them; it's not fine to blur the line.
- Ask your agent to compress large photos first; slow image-heavy pages lose visitors on phones.
portfolio website builder: FAQ
- What should a portfolio website include? Your best 3 to 6 projects with short case studies, an about section, clear contact details, and for some fields a downloadable CV. Each case study should show the problem, your role, your process and the result.
- How many projects should be in a portfolio? Usually 3 to 6. Quality and relevance to the work you want matter more than quantity.
- Can I update the portfolio later? Yes. Send new projects or changes in plain words and your agent republishes the same page.
- Can I use my own domain name? It's published with a public todo.is link. To use your own domain, download the site files from your workspace and host them with a provider that supports custom domains.
