UX designer resume with impact bullets from your case studies
UX hiring teams read your resume to decide whether your portfolio is worth opening. This prompt has your agent pull the problem, your process and the measurable outcome from each case study, then write a one-page resume that speaks the same language as the job ad: research, prototyping, design systems.
The prompt
- Write my UX designer resume for [JOB POSTING LINK]. Contact: [NAME, CITY, EMAIL, PORTFOLIO LINK]. Experience: [COMPANIES, DATES, PRODUCTS YOU DESIGNED]. Open my portfolio and use my case studies: for each one write a bullet with the problem, the method (interviews, usability tests, prototypes) and the result: [ANY METRICS YOU HAVE, E.G. TASK SUCCESS, CONVERSION, SUPPORT TICKETS]. Use the posting's tools and methods, one page, single column for ATS, and give me a Word file plus a list of portfolio gaps compared with the job ad.
What to change
- [JOB POSTING LINK]: Link to the job ad. Your agent checks whether they want product, research or visual UX.
- [NAME, CITY, EMAIL, PORTFOLIO LINK]: Your contact line with the portfolio link (Behance, Dribbble, your own site, or a Notion page).
- [COMPANIES, DATES, PRODUCTS YOU DESIGNED]: Paste your jobs or attach your current resume. Include bootcamp or freelance projects if you are junior.
- [ANY METRICS YOU HAVE, E.G. TASK SUCCESS, CONVERSION, SUPPORT TICKETS]: E.g. "checkout drop-off down 18%", "task success 62% to 91% in testing". If you have none, say so and the agent describes scope and research instead.

How to do it with todo.is
- Fill in the [brackets] and include your portfolio link.
- Paste the to-do on the Today screen in todo.is, or send it to your agent in Slack or Telegram.
- Your agent opens your case studies and the job ad and writes the resume.
- Read the portfolio gaps list, then ask for a new version once you've added a project.
Tips for a better result
- Write each bullet as problem, method, result. It mirrors how UX interviews are run, so it sets up your stories.
- If the role is research-heavy, put methods first (interviews, card sorting, diary studies). If it is product design, lead with shipped work.
- Make sure your portfolio link works without a password, or send the password in your application.
- Accessibility experience (WCAG, screen reader testing) is a strong differentiator. List it if you have it.
- Juniors: bootcamp and concept projects count. Label them clearly as concept work.
UX designer resume: FAQ
- Does a UX designer need a resume if they have a portfolio? Yes. Most companies screen the resume first, often with ATS software, and only open portfolios for shortlisted candidates.
- How long should a UX designer resume be? One page for up to about 8 years of experience. Senior and lead designers can use two pages if every line is relevant.
- What metrics can a UX designer use? Task success rate, time on task, conversion, drop-off, retention, support tickets, NPS or SUS scores. Before-and-after numbers from tests count too.
- Can the agent read a Figma or Notion portfolio? It reads public pages in its browser. For private Figma files, export case studies to PDF and attach them.
