Social media banner set: one look across LinkedIn, X, YouTube and Facebook
Your profiles each want a different cover size, and every one crops differently on phones, with a profile photo covering part of it. This prompt has your todo.is agent design one banner look and adapt it to each platform, keeping your text and logo clear of the profile photo and mobile crops.
The prompt
- Design a matching social media banner set for [NAME OR BRAND], who [WHAT YOU DO]. Platforms: [PLATFORMS]. Message on the banner: [BANNER TEXT]. Style and colours: [STYLE]. Use AI for the background or imagery and add the text as real type with exact spelling. Make one design idea work at each platform's recommended cover size, keep text and logo inside each platform's mobile safe zone, and leave the area under the profile photo empty. Deliver PNG files named by platform, plus a preview of each with a fake profile photo placed on top so I can see the crop. [PHOTO OR LOGO]
What to change
- [NAME OR BRAND]: E.g. "Samira Haddad" or "Northwind Analytics".
- [WHAT YOU DO]: E.g. "helps small online shops with Google Ads", "posts weekly woodworking videos".
- [PLATFORMS]: E.g. "LinkedIn, X, YouTube and Facebook", or "LinkedIn personal profile only".
- [BANNER TEXT]: A short line, e.g. "Google Ads for small shops · Free audit at northwind.example". Or "no text".
- [STYLE]: E.g. "clean tech, dark navy with a teal glow", "warm wood textures", or "match my website colours #...".
- [PHOTO OR LOGO]: Attach a logo or a photo to include and write "logo attached", or "none".
Example result
- Social media banner set for Northwind Analytics
- Google Ads for small online shops · dark navy #0E1A2B with a teal #2DD4BF glow · logo attached
- The design idea
- Abstract rising bar chart made of soft teal light on navy, fading to the left. Text on the right: Google Ads for small shops and a smaller line, Free audit at northwind.example.
- Sizes and placement
- • LinkedIn personal (1584 x 396): text pushed to the right half; the left third stays empty because the round profile photo overlaps the bottom left
- • LinkedIn company page (1128 x 191): very short banner, so only the headline and logo, centred
- • X / Twitter header (1500 x 500): text centred slightly high; the profile photo sits bottom left and the top and bottom can crop on some screens
- • YouTube channel art (2560 x 1440): all text and the logo inside the central 1546 x 423 px safe area that shows on every device; the glow extends to the edges for TVs
- • Facebook page cover (1640 x 624 upload): key content in the central area, because phones crop the sides
- Previews
- Each banner comes with a preview showing a placeholder profile photo and the mobile crop outline, so you can see exactly what visitors see.
- Files delivered
- • northwind_linkedin_banner.png, northwind_linkedin_company_banner.png
- • northwind_x_header.png
- • northwind_youtube_banner.png (under 6 MB)
- • northwind_facebook_cover.png
- • northwind_banner_previews.pdf
- Note on sizes
- Platforms change their layouts from time to time. Check each platform's help page if a banner looks off after upload, and ask your agent to adjust.
How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and fill in your name or brand, what you do, platforms, banner text and style.
- Paste it on the Today screen in todo.is and attach your logo or a photo, or send it to your agent on Telegram.
- Check the crop previews, then upload each PNG to its platform yourself.
- When your offer changes, ask for the same set with new text, so every profile updates together.
Tips for a better result
- Treat the banner as a billboard: who you help and how to reach you, in one line.
- Upload the PNG, then check your profile on a phone. Mobile crops are where most banners go wrong.
- Use the same colours and font as your profile photo frame, posts and website so people recognise you.
- Swap in a seasonal or launch version for a few weeks around big moments, then switch back.
social media banner: FAQ
- What size is a LinkedIn banner? A personal profile banner is 1584 x 396 px. Company pages use a shorter banner; check LinkedIn's help page for the current size.
- What is the YouTube banner safe area? YouTube banners are 2560 x 1440 px, but only the central area of about 1546 x 423 px shows on all devices. Keep text and logos inside it.
- Why does my banner text get cut off? Each platform crops covers differently on phones, desktops and TVs, and profile photos cover part of them. Keep text near the centre and use the previews to check.
- Can the agent upload the banners for me? No. You download the files and upload them in each platform's profile settings.
