AI travel planner: a day-by-day itinerary built around you
Planning a trip means twenty open tabs and a plan that still zigzags across the city. This prompt has your todo.is agent research the destination, group each day by neighbourhood, check opening days and hand you a phone-friendly PDF with every link you need to book.
The prompt
- Plan my trip to [DESTINATION] from [START DATE] to [END DATE] for [WHO IS TRAVELLING]. My budget is [BUDGET] for the whole trip, not counting flights, and we like [INTERESTS]. Make a day-by-day itinerary with morning, afternoon and evening plans, grouped by neighbourhood so we don’t cross the city twice a day. Add travel times between stops, check opening days, suggest 2 areas to stay with hotel search links, and 2 places to eat each day. Add a rough cost per day. Give me a PDF I can read on my phone and email it to me. Don’t book anything, just give me the links.
What to change
- [DESTINATION]: City or region, e.g. "Lisbon" or "the Amalfi Coast". Add "with a day trip to …" if you want one.
- [START DATE]: Arrival day, and your arrival time if you know it, so day 1 isn’t overplanned.
- [END DATE]: Departure day and time.
- [WHO IS TRAVELLING]: E.g. "2 adults", "a family with kids aged 4 and 9", "me, solo". Mention mobility needs here.
- [BUDGET]: A total amount and currency, e.g. "€1,200". Say "mid-range" if you’re unsure.
- [INTERESTS]: What you enjoy: food markets, museums, hiking, nightlife, beaches, slow mornings.

How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and fill in your destination, dates, group and budget.
- Paste it on the Today screen in todo.is, or send it to your agent on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Your agent researches the trip and sends you a PDF itinerary with links to every place.
- Reply with changes like "swap day 2 for a beach day" or "add a cooking class", then book the options you like yourself.
Tips
- Give arrival and departure times. A plan that starts at 9:00 on a day you land at 15:00 is no use.
- Say what to avoid ("no early starts", "no long queues") as well as what you like.
- Connect Google and ask your agent to add each day’s plan to your calendar with the addresses.
- Your agent remembers your travel style, so for the next trip you only need the place and the dates.
FAQ
- Can todo.is book my flights and hotels? No. Your agent finds options and gives you the links, and you book them yourself. It never pays or books anything for you.
- Are opening hours and prices up to date? Your agent checks the web when it plans, and lists its sources. Hours and prices change, so confirm on the official site before you go.
- Can it plan a multi-city or road trip? Yes. List the cities in order, or ask it to suggest a route, and say how you’re travelling between them (train, car, bus).
- Can I get it as a Word file instead of a PDF? Yes. Ask for a Word (.docx) file if you want to edit it, or both a PDF and a Word file.
