AI competitor analysis with pricing, reviews and sources
Knowing what competitors charge and what their customers complain about is the fastest way to sharpen your own offer. This prompt has your todo.is agent visit each competitor’s site, read reviews, compare pricing and features, and give you a report with links you can check.
The prompt
- Do a competitor analysis for my business, [YOUR BUSINESS AND WEBSITE]. Compare me with [COMPETITORS], and add up to 3 more you find that target [YOUR CUSTOMERS]. For each one, visit the website and check: pricing and plans, main features, who they target, how they describe themselves, and what customers praise and complain about in public reviews. Then give me a comparison spreadsheet (Excel), a short Word report with the biggest gaps I could use, 3 things they do better than me, and 5 concrete ideas for [YOUR GOAL]. Add a source link for every fact.
What to change
- [YOUR BUSINESS AND WEBSITE]: Your business in one line plus your site, e.g. "online yoga classes, flowbase.com".
- [COMPETITORS]: Names or websites of 2 to 5 rivals you know. Write "find them for me" if you are not sure.
- [YOUR CUSTOMERS]: Who you sell to, e.g. "busy parents in the UK" or "small law firms".
- [YOUR GOAL]: What the analysis is for, e.g. "my new pricing", "my homepage message" or "my next feature".
Example result
- Summary
- Flowbase competes with 6 online yoga services. Most charge between £10 and £20 a month. The clearest gap: none of them offer short classes for beginners on a free trial, which is what reviewers ask for most.
- Competitors at a glance
- • Stillwater Yoga: £14.99/month, 1,200+ classes, targets experienced students. Reviews praise the teachers, complain the app is hard to navigate.
- • Bendy Club: £9.99/month, cheapest, live classes only. Reviews complain about timezones and no replays.
- • Calm Core: £19/month, yoga plus meditation, strong brand. Reviews say it is too advanced for beginners.
- • Mat at Home: £12/month, family plans. Reviews mention lots of ads on the free tier.
- What they do better than you
- • Stillwater has a much bigger class library
- • Calm Core’s homepage explains the benefit in one sentence
- • Mat at Home offers a family plan, which you do not

- • No one offers a 7-day free trial with no card
- • Replays are a common complaint for live-only services
- 5 ideas for your new pricing
- • Add a 7-day trial with no card needed

How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and fill in your business, your rivals and your goal.
- Paste it into todo.is or send it to your agent on Telegram, WhatsApp or Slack.
- Your agent visits each competitor, reads reviews and gives you an Excel sheet and a Word report, with sources.
- Ask follow-up questions, like "go deeper on Calm Core’s pricing" or "turn this into 5 slides".
Tips
- Give your goal. "For my new pricing" leads to very different ideas than "for my homepage".
- Make it a monthly to-do: "on the 1st of each month, check my competitors’ pricing pages and tell me what changed".
- If a competitor shows prices only after login, connect your own Chrome with the todo.is Connector so your agent can see what you see.
- Ask for review quotes word for word. Your customers’ own language is great copy for your site.
FAQ
- What should a competitor analysis include? At least pricing, features, target customers, positioning and what customers say in reviews, plus a list of gaps you can act on. The prompt covers all of these.
- How often should I do a competitor analysis? A full analysis once or twice a year, plus a quick monthly check of pricing and new features. You can set the monthly check as a recurring to-do.
- Is the information accurate? Your agent reads public pages and adds a source link to each fact, so you can check anything that matters before acting on it. Prices and features can change, so note the date.
- Can I get it as a presentation? Yes. Ask for a PowerPoint (.pptx) version and your agent turns the report into slides.
