Weekly planner: turn a messy to-do list into a time-blocked week
A long list of tasks with no time attached is how weeks disappear. This prompt has your todo.is agent sort your brain-dump into priorities, block time for each one around your fixed commitments, leave room for surprises, and send you a planning check-in every Sunday evening.
The prompt
- Plan my week. Fixed commitments: [FIXED COMMITMENTS]. Everything else I need or want to do: [BRAIN DUMP OF TASKS]. My top priority this week is [TOP PRIORITY]. I work best on [BEST WORKING TIMES]. Sort the tasks into must, should and could, estimate time for each, and time-block them into a Monday to Sunday plan with buffer time and one evening off. Flag anything that doesn't fit and suggest what to drop or delegate. Give me a printable weekly planner PDF and an Excel version. Every Sunday at 18:00, ask me on WhatsApp for next week's tasks so we can plan again.
What to change
- [FIXED COMMITMENTS]: E.g. "work 9–17 Mon–Fri, gym Tue/Thu 18:30, kids' swimming Saturday 10:00". Or connect Google Calendar.
- [BRAIN DUMP OF TASKS]: Everything on your mind: "finish Q3 report, call the plumber, book dentist, birthday gift for Mum, 3 runs".
- [TOP PRIORITY]: The one thing that would make the week a success.
- [BEST WORKING TIMES]: E.g. "focused work in the morning, admin after lunch".

weekly planner: FAQ
- How do I plan my week effectively? List everything, pick one top priority, block time for the most important tasks first, then fit the rest around fixed commitments with buffer time.
- What is time blocking? Giving each task a fixed slot in your calendar instead of keeping it on a list, so you know when it will get done.
- Can it read my Google Calendar? Yes, if you connect Google. Your agent reads your events, plans around them and can add the blocks after you approve.
- Is there a printable weekly planner? Yes. The PDF prints on A4 or Letter with each day's blocks and a notes column.
