Forklift operator resume with a ready-to-use prompt
For a forklift job, the hiring manager checks your certification and the trucks you can drive before anything else. Then they look at your safety record. This prompt has your agent put those right at the top, then show how many loads, trailers and pallets you move on a typical shift.
The prompt
- Write my forklift operator resume for [COMPANY OR JOB POSTING LINK]. I'm [YOUR NAME] in [CITY]. My certification: [CERTIFICATION, DATE AND TRUCK TYPES, E.G. SIT-DOWN, REACH, ORDER PICKER, CLAMP]. My experience: [EMPLOYERS, DATES, WHAT YOU MOVED, TRAILERS OR PALLETS PER SHIFT, RACK HEIGHTS, SAFETY RECORD]. Put certification and equipment first, then experience with numbers (loads, trailers, accuracy, incident-free days), then skills like inventory and WMS. One page, simple ATS-friendly layout, Word file and PDF.
What to change

- Ask your agent to add or drop a truck type when you apply for a different role.
Tips for a better result
- Name each truck type, not just "forklift". Reach trucks and order pickers pay more and are in demand.
- Include the year you were certified or last evaluated. US employers must evaluate operators at least every 3 years.
- Trailers, pallets or loads per shift show your pace better than "moved materials".
- A long incident-free streak or zero damage claims is a hiring point. Put it in numbers.
- Mention rack heights and narrow aisles if you've worked them. Not every operator can.
forklift operator resume: FAQ
- How do I list forklift certification on a resume? Add a Certification section near the top with the training, date and the truck classes you're qualified on, such as sit-down counterbalance, reach truck or order picker.
- Does forklift certification transfer to a new employer? Often not fully. In the US, each employer must evaluate you on their equipment and site, but prior training and experience still make you a strong hire.
- What are good skills for a forklift operator resume? Truck types, loading and unloading, putaway, inspections, load securing, inventory scanning, safety awareness and working in narrow aisles or cold storage.
- Can todo.is send my resume to employers? It prepares the files and can draft emails, but you send or upload applications yourself. It asks before sending any email.
