Internship request letter for companies that are not hiring yet
Many internships are never advertised. Students get them by writing to the right person with a clear, short request. This prompt has your todo.is agent research the company, find a real project or team to mention, and write an internship request letter and email that say what you can do and when you are free.

- Internship request email
- Subject: Summer internship: river restoration project
- Dear Dr. Moore,
- I am a second-year Environmental Science student at the University of Leeds, and I read about Greenfield's new river restoration study for the council. I would love to help with fieldwork or mapping this summer.
- I have used QGIS on two course projects, I am learning Python for data cleaning, and I led a recycling audit across our campus halls, covering 1,200 students.
- Would you be open to a 15-minute call about a summer internship from June to August? I am happy to send my resume.
- Thank you for your time,
- Amira Haddad

- Internship request letter (longer version)
- Dear Dr. Moore,
- I am writing to ask whether Greenfield Studio could offer a summer internship in your environmental consulting team from June to August 2027.
- Your river restoration study is exactly the kind of work I want to do after graduating. In my course I have mapped flood risk zones in QGIS and cleaned field data in Python and Excel. Last year I led a recycling audit of six halls of residence, which taught me to plan fieldwork, train volunteers and present findings to the university estates team.
- I would bring care with data, a willingness to do the unglamorous field tasks, and real interest in your work. I can work full time over the summer and would be glad to discuss a project that suits your team.
- Could we arrange a short call? My resume is attached.
- Kind regards,
- Amira Haddad

- Say exactly when you are free and how many hours, so they can picture it.
- Keep the email short. Put details in the attached resume or longer letter.
- Ask your agent to remind you to follow up 7 days after you send each request.
