Pitch deck generator that builds an editable PowerPoint
Founders spend weeks fiddling with slides before their first investor meeting. Describe your startup and attach what you have, and your todo.is agent researches your market size and competitors, writes the story, and builds a clean 12-slide PowerPoint with speaker notes you can edit.
The prompt
- Build an investor pitch deck for [STARTUP NAME], which [WHAT YOU DO IN ONE SENTENCE]. Stage and raise: [STAGE AND AMOUNT YOU ARE RAISING]. Traction so far: [USERS, REVENUE, GROWTH OR PILOTS]. Team: [FOUNDERS AND KEY EXPERIENCE]. Research the market size and 4 to 6 competitors with source links. Then make 12 slides: title, problem, solution, product, why now, market size, business model, traction, competition (2x2 chart), go-to-market, team, the ask and use of funds. One idea per slide, big numbers, few words. Add speaker notes for each slide. Use [BRAND COLORS OR STYLE]. Deliver an editable PowerPoint (.pptx) and a PDF, plus a list of the sources used.
What to change
- [STARTUP NAME]: e.g. "Pantrio".
- [WHAT YOU DO IN ONE SENTENCE]: e.g. "helps small grocery stores cut food waste with smart reordering".
- [STAGE AND AMOUNT YOU ARE RAISING]: e.g. "pre-seed, raising $750k".
- [USERS, REVENUE, GROWTH OR PILOTS]: e.g. "14 paying stores, $6k MRR, 20% monthly growth", or attach a metrics sheet.
- [FOUNDERS AND KEY EXPERIENCE]: e.g. "Ines (ex-grocery ops manager), Kai (ML engineer)".
- [BRAND COLORS OR STYLE]: e.g. "dark green and cream, minimal", or attach your logo.
Example result
- Pantrio: 12-slide outline
- 1. Title
- Pantrio: smart reordering for independent grocers. Raising $750k pre-seed.
- 2. Problem
- Small grocers throw away a large share of fresh stock and still run out of best-sellers. Owners reorder by gut feeling on paper.
- 3. Solution
- Pantrio reads sales from the till and suggests the right order every morning. One tap sends it to suppliers.
- 4. Product
- Three screens: today's order, waste report, supplier list. Works on a phone.
- 5. Why now
- Modern tills export sales data, and grocers face rising costs and thin margins.
- 6. Market
- TAM, SAM and SOM with sources. Example: independent grocers in our first 3 countries, priced at $400 a month (illustrative assumptions).
- 7. Business model
- Subscription per store, $400 a month. Supplier marketplace fee planned for 2028.
- 8. Traction
- 14 paying stores, $6k MRR, 20% month-over-month growth for 5 months. Pilot stores report fewer thrown-out fresh items.
- 9. Competition
- 2x2 chart: built for chains vs. independents, manual vs. automated. Pantrio sits alone in automated + independents.
- 10. Go-to-market
- Wholesaler partnerships, then referral program between store owners.
- 11. Team
- Ines Duarte, CEO: 9 years running grocery operations. Kai Brandt, CTO: built forecasting models at a delivery startup.
- 12. The ask
- $750k for 18 months: 50% product and engineering, 30% sales, 20% operations. Goal: 150 stores and $60k MRR.
- Speaker note example (slide 2)
- "Last year I watched our store bin crates of strawberries on Monday and run out by Friday. Every owner we met has the same story."
How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and fill in your startup, stage, traction, team and style.
- Paste it into todo.is and attach your logo, metrics sheet or an old deck if you have one.
- Your agent researches the market, then builds the PowerPoint with speaker notes and a PDF version.
- Open the .pptx to adjust design details, or ask your agent: "make slide 8 a chart" or "shorter version for a 3-minute demo day".
Tips for a better result
- Put traction early if it is strong. Investors look for proof before they look for vision.
- Show market size bottom-up (number of customers times price), not just a big top-down figure.
- Keep one message per slide and fewer than 30 words on it. The speaker notes carry the rest.
- Make the ask exact: amount, how long it lasts and what milestones it reaches.
- Check every number and source before sending. Investors will ask where each one came from.
pitch deck generator: FAQ
- How many slides should a pitch deck have? Around 10 to 15 slides is standard for a first meeting. A send-ahead deck can have a little more text; a live pitch deck should have less.
- Can I edit the pitch deck after it is generated? Yes. You get an editable PowerPoint file that opens in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides.
- What should be on the traction slide? Your strongest real numbers over time: revenue, paying customers, growth rate, retention or signed pilots. A simple chart usually works best.
- Can todo.is find investors for me? Your agent can research investors who fund your stage and sector and list them with links, but you reach out to them yourself.
