Find investors who actually fund your stage and sector
Pitching 200 random funds wastes months. The investors worth your time already invest in your sector, at your stage, in your region, and haven't backed a direct competitor. Your todo.is agent researches funds and angels from public sources, checks those points and gives you a ranked list with a reason for each.
The prompt
- Find investors for my startup. We build [WHAT YOU BUILD] for [CUSTOMER], based in [LOCATION]. We're raising a [ROUND AND AMOUNT]. Traction: [TRACTION]. Find 25 investors (funds and active angels) who invest at this stage, in this sector and region. Use public sources: fund websites, portfolio pages, news about recent deals and public investor profiles. For each give the name, type, partner most relevant to us, typical check size if public, 2 relevant portfolio companies, a recent deal, whether they backed a direct competitor, and how they prefer to be contacted (warm intro, form, email). Rank by fit, Excel file, and write a short first email for the top 5.
What to change
- [WHAT YOU BUILD]: One line, e.g. "scheduling software" or "a refill-based cleaning products brand".
- [CUSTOMER]: e.g. "independent physiotherapy clinics".
- [LOCATION]: e.g. "Amsterdam, selling across the EU".
- [ROUND AND AMOUNT]: e.g. "pre-seed of €500k" or "seed of $2M".
- [TRACTION]: e.g. "40 paying clinics, €12k monthly revenue, growing 15% a month".

find investors: FAQ
- How do I find investors for my startup? Look for investors who have recently funded companies at your stage, in your sector and region. Fund websites, portfolio pages and deal news show this; warm intros are the best way in.
- What is the difference between angels and VCs? Angels invest their own money, often smaller amounts and earlier. Venture capital funds invest other people's money, usually larger checks with more process.
- How many investors should I contact? For a pre-seed or seed round, many founders talk to 30 to 80 well-matched investors. It depends on your market and network.
- Does the agent contact investors for me? No. It researches and writes drafts. You send emails and make intro requests yourself.
