SVG to PNG converter for logos and icons at any size
An SVG logo scales to any size, but email signatures, app stores, social profiles and old software want PNGs. Your todo.is agent renders your SVG at every size you list, keeps the background transparent, checks fonts and thin lines, and names each file by its size.
The prompt
- Render the attached SVG as PNG files: [ATTACH THE SVG]. Sizes: [SIZES]. Keep the background [BACKGROUND]. [PADDING]. If the SVG uses a font that is not embedded, tell me and [FONT FALLBACK]. Start each file name with [BASE NAME] followed by the size (like name-512.png), and check each size for thin lines or text that disappear when small.
What to change
- [ATTACH THE SVG]: Attach the .svg file. If you only have an SVG link, paste it.
- [SIZES]: E.g. "16, 32, 180, 512 and 1024 px squares", or "1200 px wide for a header".
- [BACKGROUND]: E.g. "transparent" or "white".
- [PADDING]: E.g. "10% padding around the logo" or "no padding".
- [FONT FALLBACK]: E.g. "use Inter", "attach the font file" or "convert the text to outlines first".
- [BASE NAME]: The start of each file name, e.g. "fernwood-logo".
Example result
- SVG to PNG: fernwood-logo.svg
- 6 PNG sizes · transparent · square with 10% padding
- Files
- • fernwood-logo-16.png · 16 × 16 px · browser favicon
- • fernwood-logo-32.png · 32 × 32 px · favicon on high-res screens
- • fernwood-logo-180.png · 180 × 180 px · Apple touch icon
- • fernwood-logo-512.png · 512 × 512 px · app and social profile
- • fernwood-logo-1024.png · 1024 × 1024 px · large profile and print preview
- • fernwood-logo-wide-1200.png · 1200 × 400 px · website header (full logo with name)
- Checks your agent made
- • Fonts: the name "Fernwood" used Nunito, which was not embedded in the SVG. Nunito was installed for rendering, so letters look exactly as designed. For the future, converting text to outlines in your design tool avoids this
- • Small sizes: at 16 and 32 px, the fern leaf's thin veins disappeared into a blur. Those two sizes use the leaf shape without veins, which reads much better in a browser tab
- • Colours: forest green #2F4F3A kept exactly; no colour profile shift
- • Edges: rendered with anti-aliasing, so curves stay smooth at every size
- Why render from SVG instead of resizing a PNG
- Each PNG is drawn fresh from the vector shapes at its own size, so the 1024 px file is as sharp as the 16 px one. Scaling a small PNG up would blur it.
- Need other formats?
- Ask for a .ico favicon, a white version for dark backgrounds, or a JPG on white for places that reject transparency.
How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt, list the sizes, background and padding.
- Attach the SVG on the Today screen in todo.is or send it to your agent on Slack or Discord.
- Your agent renders each size and checks the small ones.
- Reply "add a dark mode version" or "make a 2x set for retina" to extend the set.
Tips for a better result
- List every size you need at once. A full favicon and social set takes the same effort as one file.
- Detailed logos rarely read below 32 px. Ask for a simplified mark for tiny sizes.
- Text in an SVG depends on installed fonts. Send the font or outline the text to be sure it renders right.
- For print, ask for a large PNG at 300 dpi of the final print size, or keep the SVG for the printer.
SVG to PNG converter: FAQ
- Will an SVG lose quality when converted to PNG? No. Each PNG is rendered from the vector at its exact size, so it is as sharp as that size allows.
- What size should my PNG be? It depends on use: 32 px for favicons, 180 px for Apple icons, 512 px for app or social profiles, and larger for headers or print.
- Can I keep a transparent background? Yes. PNG supports transparency, and it is kept by default.
- Why does my text look wrong in the PNG? The SVG refers to a font that is not available. Send the font file or convert the text to outlines.
