Article rewriter that updates and improves, not just rewords
Most article rewriter tools swap words for synonyms and make the text worse. If you have an old post that lost traffic or a draft that reads badly, this prompt has your todo.is agent check what is out of date, rewrite for clarity in your own voice, and list every change it made.
The prompt
- Rewrite this article: [ARTICLE LINK OR ATTACHED FILE]. Goal: [GOAL]. Keep my voice, which is [YOUR VOICE], and keep the main keyword "[MAIN KEYWORD]". First, check facts, dates, product names and links against current sources on the web and note anything outdated. Then rewrite it: shorter sentences, a clearer intro that answers the main question in the first 3 lines, better headings, and remove repetition and filler. Add anything important that current top-ranking articles cover and mine does not. Do not copy wording from other sites. Give me a Word file with the new version and a separate list of changes: what was updated, what was cut, what was added, with source links for any new facts.
What to change
- [ARTICLE LINK OR ATTACHED FILE]: The URL of the post, or attach a Word, PDF or text file.
- [GOAL]: e.g. "refresh for 2026 and regain rankings", "make it easier to read", "cut it to 1,000 words".
- [YOUR VOICE]: e.g. "friendly and direct, uses 'you', some humor". Or paste a sample paragraph.
- [MAIN KEYWORD]: The phrase the article should keep ranking for.
Example result
- Rewrite summary · "Best Budget Laptops for Students"
- Goal: refresh for this school year and regain rankings. Keyword kept: best budget laptops for students.
- New intro (first 3 lines)
- The best budget laptop for most students has at least 8 GB of RAM, an SSD and a battery that lasts a full day of classes. Below are the picks we would buy now, what to skip, and how to choose in five minutes.
- What was updated
- • 3 laptops in the list are discontinued. Replaced with current models (manufacturer pages linked).
- • "4 GB of RAM is enough" changed to 8 GB minimum, in line with current software needs.
- • 4 broken links replaced, 2 affiliate links flagged as no longer working.
- What was cut
- • A 300-word history of laptops that did not help anyone choose.
- • The same "battery life matters" point repeated in three sections.
- • Filler phrases like "in today's fast-paced world".
- What was added
- • "Chromebook or Windows?" section: 4 of the top 5 ranking articles cover it, yours did not.
- • A short comparison table: weight, battery, RAM, storage, ports.
- • FAQ: "Is a refurbished laptop OK for college?"
- Before and after (example)
- Before: "When it comes to choosing a laptop, there are many different factors that you will need to take into consideration before making your final decision."
- After: "Check four things: RAM, storage type, battery life and weight."
- Next steps
- • Update the "last updated" date on the post.
- • Request indexing in Google Search Console after publishing.
- • Check prices yourself on the day you publish, since they change often.
How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and add your article link or attach the file.
- Fill in your goal, voice and keyword, then paste it into todo.is or send it on Telegram.
- Your agent checks facts, rewrites the text and sends a Word file with a change list.
- Ask for another pass, such as "make it more casual" or "shorten the intro".
Tips for a better result
- Tell your agent why you are rewriting. "Lost rankings" and "too long" need very different edits.
- Keep the same URL when you refresh a post, so links and history stay with it.
- Paste one paragraph you love as a voice sample. It works better than a list of adjectives.
- Read the change list, not just the new text. It shows which claims your agent re-checked.
article rewriter: FAQ
- Is rewriting an article plagiarism? Rewriting your own article is not. Rewording someone else's article and publishing it as yours can still be plagiarism and a copyright issue, even with different words.
- Will Google penalize rewritten content? Google cares whether content is helpful, not how it was written. A rewrite that adds current facts and clearer answers is fine; spinning text to make near-copies is not.
- How often should I update old blog posts? Check important posts at least once a year, and sooner for topics that change fast like prices, software or rules.
- Can I rewrite several articles at once? Yes. Send a list of links and your agent rewrites them one by one, each with its own file and change list.
