Certificate maker: one design, a certificate for every name
Printing 40 course certificates by hand, one name at a time, is tedious and easy to get wrong. This prompt has your todo.is agent design a certificate once, then fill in every name from your list (a spreadsheet or pasted text) and give you one PDF per person, or one combined file ready to print.
The prompt
- Design a [CERTIFICATE TYPE] certificate for [ORGANISATION]. Title: [CERTIFICATE TITLE]. Wording: [WORDING]. Date: [DATE]. Signed by: [SIGNER NAMES AND ROLES]. Style: [STYLE]. Size: A4 landscape (or US letter landscape if I say so). Leave a clear line for the recipient name. Use AI only for decorative borders or background, and place all text as real type. Then make one certificate for each name in [NAME LIST], keeping names centred and shrinking long names to fit. Deliver one combined PDF for printing and a ZIP of separate PDFs named after each person.
What to change
- [CERTIFICATE TYPE]: E.g. "course completion", "employee of the month", "volunteer appreciation", "kids' swimming award".
- [ORGANISATION]: Name, and attach your logo if you want it, e.g. "Northgate Coding School (logo attached)".
- [CERTIFICATE TITLE]: E.g. "Certificate of Completion" or "Certificate of Appreciation".
- [WORDING]: The line under the name, e.g. "has successfully completed the 8-week Intro to Python course (24 hours)".
- [DATE]: E.g. "14 June 2026".
- [SIGNER NAMES AND ROLES]: E.g. "Maya Chen, Lead Instructor". Attach a signature image if you want it placed above the line.
- [STYLE]: E.g. "classic navy and gold border", "modern minimal", "colourful and fun for kids".
- [NAME LIST]: Attach a spreadsheet or CSV with a name column, or paste the names one per line.

How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and fill in the certificate type, wording, date, signers and style.
- Attach your logo, a signature image and the name list, then paste the prompt into todo.is.
- Check the first certificate, then download the combined PDF and the ZIP of individual files.
- For the next course, send only the new name list and date and ask for the same design.
Tips for a better result
- Add a unique certificate number. It makes reprints and verification easy if someone asks later.
- Put hours or skills on course certificates ("24 hours", "CPR and AED") so they mean more on a CV or LinkedIn.
- Check the spelling of names with participants before printing. A misspelled name is the most common certificate mistake.
- Only claim accreditation you actually have. Never imitate an official body's seal or logo.
certificate maker: FAQ
- What should a certificate of completion include? The organisation name or logo, certificate title, recipient name, what they completed (and hours if relevant), the date, and a signature with the signer's name and role.
- Can I make many certificates at once? Yes. Attach a spreadsheet or paste a list of names and your agent creates one certificate per person, as a combined PDF and separate files.
- Can I add a real signature? Yes. Attach a scan or photo of the signature on white paper; your agent cleans it up and places it above the signature line.
- What paper size is best? A4 landscape is standard in most countries and US letter landscape in the US and Canada. Tell your agent which you will print on.
