A drink water reminder that fits your actual day
Hydration apps often ping every half hour until you mute them. This prompt builds a calmer drink water reminder around your real routine: a few well-placed nudges on WhatsApp or Telegram during your waking hours, more on workout or hot days, and a simple count if you reply with how much you drank.
The prompt
- Remind me to drink water on [WHERE TO SEND]. I am awake from [WAKE AND SLEEP TIME] and my daily goal is [DAILY WATER GOAL]. Send [HOW MANY] short reminders a day, spread around my routine: [MY ROUTINE]. No reminders in the last hour before sleep. On days I tell you I worked out, add two extra reminders. If I reply with a number like "2" (glasses), keep a running total and tell me how far I am from the goal. Vary the wording so it does not feel like the same alarm. Every Sunday evening, send me a one-line summary of my week.
What to change
- [WHERE TO SEND]: WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack or Discord.
- [WAKE AND SLEEP TIME]: e.g. "7:00 to 23:00".
- [DAILY WATER GOAL]: e.g. "8 glasses" or "2 liters". If unsure, ask your doctor what suits you.
- [HOW MANY]: e.g. "6". Between 5 and 8 usually works without feeling noisy.
- [MY ROUTINE]: e.g. "desk work 9 to 17, lunch at 13, gym Mon/Wed/Fri at 18".

How to do it with todo.is

- Send it to your todo.is agent on WhatsApp or Telegram, or paste it into the Today screen.
- Reply with a number after drinking if you want your agent to keep count.
- Change it anytime: "fewer reminders on weekends" or "pause while I am travelling".
Tips for a better result
- Tie reminders to things you already do (waking up, lunch, leaving work). Habits stick better when they ride on an existing routine.
- Fewer, well-timed reminders beat hourly pings. If you start ignoring them, cut the number.
- Stop the last reminder 1 to 2 hours before sleep so you are not up at night.
- Each scheduled message uses a small amount of AI credits, so 5 to 8 a day is a good balance.
