Workout reminders that tell you exactly what to do today
A reminder that just says "work out" is easy to snooze. This one tells you today's session in a few lines, when to pack your bag, and what you did last time so you can add a little. Your todo.is agent sends it on your training days, notes if you skipped, and moves the session instead of losing it.
The prompt
- Send me workout reminders on [WHERE TO SEND]. My training days and times: [DAYS AND TIMES]. My plan: [MY WORKOUT PLAN OR GOAL]. The evening before each session at [EVENING TIME], remind me to pack or prepare what I need. One hour before, send the session in a short list: exercises, sets, reps and what I did last time. After the session time, ask "done or skipped?". If I reply with my numbers, log them and suggest a small increase for next time. If I skip, offer a shorter 20-minute version or move it to the next free day. Every Sunday, send a weekly summary and send my log as an Excel file at the end of each month.
What to change
- [WHERE TO SEND]: WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack or Discord.
- [DAYS AND TIMES]: e.g. "Mon, Wed, Fri at 18:30, Saturday run at 9:00".
- [MY WORKOUT PLAN OR GOAL]: Paste your plan or attach it, or write a goal like "beginner full-body strength, 3 days a week, dumbbells at home".
- [EVENING TIME]: e.g. "21:00".
Example result
- Sunday 21:00 (evening before)

- Monday 19:45

- > Logged. Squat moved up, nice. Push-ups nearly at 3 x 8, stay there next time. Wednesday is Full body B.
- When you skip
- You reply: "skipped, work ran late"
- > No problem. Options: a 20-minute version at home tonight (squats, push-ups, rows with a backpack, plank), or move Full body A to Thursday at 18:30. Which one?
- Sunday summary
- • 3 of 4 sessions done (Wednesday moved to Thursday)
- • Squat up 2 kg, push-ups up 1 rep
- • Saturday run: 5 km in 31 minutes
- Next week: same plan, try 16 kg on the rows.

How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt, fill in your training days and paste or attach your workout plan.
- Send it to your todo.is agent on WhatsApp or Telegram, or paste it on the Today screen.
- Reply after each session with "done" and your numbers, or "skipped".
- Ask for changes anytime: "move Friday to Saturday", "deload week", or "I hurt my knee, swap squats".
Tips for a better result
- The evening-before reminder matters as much as the one on the day. A packed bag removes the easiest excuse.
- Seeing last time's numbers in the reminder makes progress automatic: add a rep or a little weight when it feels good.
- Plan a short backup workout. A 20-minute session on a busy day keeps the habit going.
- If you are new to exercise or have a health condition, check with a doctor before starting a new plan.
workout reminders: FAQ
- How do I stay motivated to work out? Make it specific and easy to start: fixed days and times, a plan for each session, and a record of your progress. A short backup session helps on busy days.
- How many days a week should I work out? Many people do well with 3 to 4 sessions a week, with rest days between hard strength sessions. Beginners can start with 2 or 3.
- Can it make my workout plan too? Yes. Write your goal, level and equipment, and your agent can write a plan and then send the reminders for it.
- Can I get reminders in Discord or Slack? Yes. Your agent can send workout reminders to WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord or email.
