Find apartment listings that match, before everyone else does
Good apartments go in a day, and refreshing five rental sites is exhausting. This prompt has your todo.is agent search the listing sites you use every morning, filter out what doesn’t fit, and message you only the new listings worth a viewing.
The prompt
- Find apartment listings for me in [CITY AND AREAS]. I need [BEDROOMS AND SIZE], budget up to [MAX RENT] per month, moving in by [MOVE-IN DATE]. Must have: [MUST-HAVES]. Search [LISTING SITES] every morning at 8. Only send me listings that are new since the last check and match everything. For each one: the title, rent, size, area, distance to [PLACE YOU GO OFTEN], what’s good and any red flags (no photos, price far below the area, vague address), and the link. Keep a running list in an Excel file and send me new matches on [WHERE TO SEND IT]. Don’t contact landlords without asking me.
What to change
- [CITY AND AREAS]: e.g. "Berlin: Kreuzberg, Neukölln or Friedrichshain".
- [BEDROOMS AND SIZE]: e.g. "2 bedrooms, at least 60 m²".
- [MAX RENT]: With currency, and say if it includes bills, e.g. "€1,600 warm".
- [MOVE-IN DATE]: e.g. "December 1".
- [MUST-HAVES]: e.g. "balcony, pets allowed, unfurnished, elevator".
- [LISTING SITES]: The rental sites you use in your city. Your agent opens and searches them.
- [PLACE YOU GO OFTEN]: Your office, school or a station, so it can check the commute.
- [WHERE TO SEND IT]: WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord or email.
Example result
- 3 new matches · Thursday morning
- Searched 3 sites, 64 new listings, 3 match everything.

- €1,540 warm · 64 m² · 3rd floor with elevator · pets allowed · available Nov 15
- 22 minutes to your office by U-Bahn.
- Good: south-facing balcony, renovated kitchen, landlord replies through the site.
- Red flags: none found.

- 2. Quiet 2-room near the canal, Kreuzberg
- €1,595 warm · 61 m² · 2nd floor, no elevator · cats only · available Dec 1
- 18 minutes to your office by bike.
- Good: courtyard side, close to two parks.
- Red flags: listing says "deposit 3 months", which is normal here, but ask what’s included in "warm".

- 3. 2-room with large balcony, Friedrichshain
- €1,480 warm · 66 m² · 4th floor with elevator · pets on request · available Dec 1
- 25 minutes to your office by S-Bahn.
- Good: lowest price of the three, big balcony.
- Red flags: photos look a few years old; ask for current ones at the viewing.

- Flagged and left out
- "Luxury 3-room, Mitte, €900" · far below the area’s typical rent, no address, and the poster asks for payment before viewing. These are common signs of a rental scam.
- Your running list
- 14 matches so far in Apartment_Search_Berlin.xlsx, with the date each one appeared and a column for your notes.
- Want me to draft a short message to the landlords of 1 and 3? I’ll show it to you before anything is sent.
How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and fill in the [brackets] with your city, budget and must-haves.
- Paste it on the Today screen, or send it to your agent on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Your agent searches every morning, keeps a running Excel list and messages you only new matches.
- Reply "too far" or "raise budget to €1,700" and the next searches adjust.
Tips
- If a rental site needs you to log in, connect your own Chrome with the todo.is Connector so your agent can search it with your account.
- Ask your agent to draft landlord messages in the local language. It asks for your OK before sending anything.
- Run it twice a day in busy cities: "check at 8 and at 18".
- Never pay a deposit before seeing the flat and the contract. Your agent flags listings that ask for this.
FAQ
- Which apartment sites can it search? Any listing site your agent can open in a browser. Some sites need you to sign in or block automated visits; connecting your own Chrome through the todo.is Connector usually solves that.
- Can it contact landlords for me? It can draft messages and, if you allow it, send them through your own browser or email, but it always asks for your OK before sending anything.
- How does it spot rental scams? It flags common warning signs like a price far below the area, no address or photos, and requests for money before a viewing. It can’t guarantee a listing is safe, so always check yourself.
- Does it work for buying, not just renting? Yes. Change the prompt to a purchase price and the sale listing sites you use, and it works the same way.
