Find podcasts to guest on, with a pitch for each show
Being a podcast guest is a good way to reach a new audience, but finding shows that are still active, take guests and fit your topic takes hours. This prompt has your todo.is agent search podcast directories and show websites, check recent episodes and guest history, find how to pitch each show and write a short pitch that proves you listened.
The prompt
- Find podcasts I could be a guest on. I am [YOUR NAME AND ROLE] and I can talk about [YOUR TOPICS]. My audience is [WHO YOU WANT TO REACH]. Search podcast directories, show websites and episode lists. Only include shows that published an episode in the last 60 days and have had guests before. For each show, note: name, link, host, topic, how often it publishes, a recent episode that relates to my topics, and how to pitch (guest form, email or booking page). Rank 25 shows in an Excel file, from small and likely to bigger reach. For the top 10, write a pitch of under 150 words with 3 episode ideas, mentioning a specific recent episode. My proof points: [CREDENTIALS OR LINKS].
What to change
- [YOUR NAME AND ROLE]: e.g. "Marta Silva, founder of a 12-person bookkeeping firm".
- [YOUR TOPICS]: 2 to 4 angles, e.g. "cash flow for small businesses, pricing services, hiring your first accountant".
- [WHO YOU WANT TO REACH]: e.g. "owners of service businesses with 1 to 20 staff".
- [CREDENTIALS OR LINKS]: e.g. your website, a past interview, a talk, a book, or a client result.

- Sample pitch for The Small Shop Show
- Subject: Guest idea: the cash flow side of raising prices
- Hi Jordan, I enjoyed your episode with the cleaning company owner who raised prices by 20%. One thing it didn’t cover is what happens to cash flow in the months after a price change, which is where I see most small firms struggle.
- I run a 12-person bookkeeping firm working with 140 service businesses. Three ideas:
- • The 3 cash flow numbers every owner should check weekly
- • How to raise prices without a cash crunch
- • When to hire a bookkeeper (and when not to)
- Happy to keep it practical with real examples. Thanks, Marta
- Tips for this list
- • Pitch 5 shows a week, not all 25 at once, so you can improve the pitch from replies.
- • Smaller shows often say yes faster and their audiences are loyal.
How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and fill in your role, topics, audience and proof points.
- Paste it into todo.is, or send it to your agent on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Your agent sends a ranked list of 25 active shows and 10 tailored pitches.
- Send the pitches yourself, or connect Google so your agent saves them as Gmail drafts for you to send.
Tips for a better result
- Pitch a specific angle, not your biography. Hosts book guests who bring a great episode.
- Listen to at least part of a recent episode before you send the pitch.
- Start with smaller, active shows. They reply more often, and you get better at interviews.
- Ask your agent to remember your topics and proof points, then run it again next month for new shows.
find podcasts to guest on: FAQ
- How do I find podcasts that accept guests? Search podcast directories by topic, check that recent episodes include guests, and look for a guest form or booking email on the show website or in the show notes.
- How do I pitch myself as a podcast guest? Keep it under 150 words, mention a specific recent episode, offer 2 or 3 episode ideas that suit their audience and add one line of proof about you.
- Should I pay to be a guest on a podcast? Most interview shows do not charge guests. Some do sponsored interviews; if you pay, it should be clearly an ad.
- Can the agent send the pitches? With Google connected it can save them as Gmail drafts or send them after you approve each one. It never sends without your OK.
