Flight price tracker for your exact route, dates and rules
Fare alerts from one booking site miss the cheaper flight on another, and they ping you about 3-stop itineraries you would never take. This prompt has your todo.is agent search your route each morning with your rules (stops, times, bags), log the cheapest real option and message you when a fare is worth booking.
The prompt
- Track flight prices from [ORIGIN] to [DESTINATION], leaving [DEPARTURE DATES] and returning [RETURN DATES], for [PASSENGERS]. Every morning at 7:00, search Google Flights and two other flight search sites, plus the airline sites for direct flights. Only count flights with [FLIGHT RULES]. Note the cheapest option with the total price including a carry-on bag. If the total drops below [TARGET FARE] or falls more than 10% from the lowest price you have seen, message me on WhatsApp with the airline, times, stops, price and the booking link. Every Friday send me a short summary of how fares moved. Stop on [STOP DATE]. Never book anything.
What to change
- [ORIGIN]: City or airport code, e.g. "Chicago (ORD or MDW)". Add nearby airports you would use.
- [DESTINATION]: e.g. "Lisbon (LIS)" or "any airport in Portugal".
- [DEPARTURE DATES]: An exact date or a window, e.g. "any day May 8–11".
- [RETURN DATES]: e.g. "May 18 or 19", or "one way" if you do not need a return.
- [PASSENGERS]: e.g. "2 adults and 1 child aged 6".
- [FLIGHT RULES]: Your must-haves: "max 1 stop, layovers under 3 hours, no departures before 7am, no basic economy".
- [TARGET FARE]: The total for everyone you would happily pay, with currency, e.g. "$1,800 for all 3".
- [STOP DATE]: When to stop tracking, e.g. "March 31" or 3 weeks before the trip.

How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and fill in your route, dates, passengers and flight rules.
- Paste it into todo.is or send it to your agent on WhatsApp.
- Your agent runs the search every morning and messages you only when a fare beats your target or drops sharply.
- Open the link, confirm the total and book it yourself. Then reply "stop".
Tips for a better result
- Use date windows and nearby airports. Flexibility of a day or one airport often matters more than when you search.
- Always compare totals with bags. Basic economy fares look cheap until you add a carry-on.
- Start tracking early. For long-haul trips, watching fares for a few weeks gives you a feel for a normal price on your route.
- Ask your agent to remember your home airports and flight rules so the next tracker is a one-line message.
flight price tracker: FAQ
- When is the best time to book a flight? There is no single magic day. For many routes, fares are more stable a few weeks to a few months ahead, and tracking your own route shows you what a good price looks like.
- Does searching flights many times raise the price? There is no clear evidence that searching itself raises fares. Prices change because seats sell and airlines adjust fares, which is why a daily check helps.
- Can the agent track multi-city or one-way trips? Yes. List each leg with its dates, or write "one way". The same rules and target price apply.
- Will todo.is book the flight for me? No. Your agent finds the fare and sends the link. You book and pay yourself.
