Instagram captions for product launches, teaser to first reviews
A launch post that just says "It’s here!" wastes weeks of work. This prompt has your todo.is agent read your product page and notes, find the one problem it solves, and write a launch sequence: teasers that build curiosity, a clear launch day caption, feature posts and a follow-up with first customer reactions.
The prompt
- Write Instagram captions for my product launch. Product: [PRODUCT NAME AND LINK]. Who it is for and the problem it solves: [CUSTOMER AND PROBLEM]. Launch date and where to buy: [LAUNCH DATE AND WHERE]. Read the product page and attached notes. Write a 9-post sequence: 3 teasers for the week before (a close-up detail, a "guess what it is", and a "why we made it" story), 1 countdown Story text, the launch-day caption, 3 feature posts (one feature each, explained as a benefit), and 1 post-launch caption built from [EARLY FEEDBACK]. Use the brand voice: [VOICE]. Each caption under 90 words with one call to action. Give a suggested visual for each post and a short hook line for the Reels.
What to change
- [PRODUCT NAME AND LINK]: e.g. "Fold Bottle, foldbottle.co/launch", or attach a product sheet.
- [CUSTOMER AND PROBLEM]: e.g. "travelers tired of bulky water bottles in their bag".
- [LAUNCH DATE AND WHERE]: e.g. "March 3, on our website and Kickstarter".
- [EARLY FEEDBACK]: Quotes from testers or first buyers, or "none yet".
- [VOICE]: e.g. "clear, practical, a bit witty" or "premium and calm".
Example result
- Fold Bottle · Launch captions (launch March 3)
- Teaser 1 · Visual: extreme close-up of the silicone folds
- "We spent 14 months on this one detail. Launching March 3."
- Teaser 2 · Visual: blurred shape in a jacket pocket
- "Guess what fits in a jacket pocket, holds 750 ml and doesn't leak? Wrong answers welcome."
- Teaser 3 · Visual: founder at an airport gate
- "I threw away four water bottles at airport security in one year. Too big, too heavy, too annoying. So we made one that folds flat when it's empty. March 3."
- Countdown Story
- "Fold Bottle: 1 day. Set a reminder."
- Launch day · Reel hook: "This is a full water bottle." (then folds it flat)
- "Fold Bottle is here. 750 ml when you need it, flat as a phone when you don't. Leak-proof lid, dishwasher safe, made from food-grade silicone. Order today at the link in bio."
- Feature 1: folds flat
- "Empty, it's 2 cm thick. It slides into a laptop sleeve, a back pocket, a passport holder. Your bag gets lighter the moment you finish drinking."
- Feature 2: leak-proof lid
- "We tested the lid upside down in 300 bags. Not one wet laptop. Turn it, shake it, throw it in your tote."
- Feature 3: easy to clean
- "Wide mouth, no hidden corners, top rack of the dishwasher. No more bottle brush."
- Post-launch · Visual: customer photo, with permission
- "First reviews are in. "Took it through three airports this week, never left my pocket" (Dana, beta tester). Thank you to the first 500 of you."
- Reel hooks
- • "This is a full water bottle."
- • "Airport security has taken its last bottle from me."
- • "It's 2 cm thick. Watch."
How to do it with todo.is
- Fill in your product, the customer problem, launch date and voice.
- Attach product notes or photos in the todo.is app and send the to-do. Your agent reads the product page too.
- You get a 9-post launch sequence with visuals and Reel hooks.
- After launch day, send new reviews and ask for another round of feature and social-proof captions.
Tips for a better result
- Lead with the problem, not the product. People care about the annoyance you remove.
- One feature per post is easier to remember than a spec list in one caption.
- Collect early feedback from testers before launch so your post-launch caption has real quotes.
- Ask your agent for a launch email and a Story sequence from the same brief, so everything says the same thing.
Instagram captions for product launches: FAQ
- How do I announce a new product on Instagram? Build up with 2 or 3 teasers, post a clear launch caption on the day with what it is, who it’s for and where to buy, then follow with features and reviews.
- How many days before launch should I tease? About one week is common for small brands. Longer teaser periods work if you have an email list or waitlist to keep warm.
- What makes a good launch day caption? A one-line hook, the main benefit, two or three key details and a single call to action like "order at the link in bio".
- Can it write the launch plan too? Yes. Ask for a full launch plan with channels, dates and emails, as a Word or Excel file.
