JPG to PNG converter, with a transparent background if you need one
Most people convert JPG to PNG for one reason: they want a logo, signature or product without the white box around it. Your todo.is agent converts the file to PNG and, if you ask, removes the background so only the subject is left, ready for slides, documents or a website.
The prompt
- Convert the attached JPG images to PNG: [ATTACH THE JPG FILES]. Background: [BACKGROUND]. [EDGES]. [SIZE]. Show me each result on a checkerboard preview so I can see what is transparent, and point out any edge that looks rough.
What to change
- [ATTACH THE JPG FILES]: Attach the JPGs, e.g. a logo, a photo of your signature on white paper, or product photos.
- [BACKGROUND]: E.g. "keep it as is" (plain conversion), "remove the white background" (logos, signatures), or "remove the background with AI" (photos of people or products).
- [EDGES]: E.g. "clean, smooth edges", "add a small white outline like a sticker" or "no changes".
- [SIZE]: E.g. "keep size" or "1000 px wide".
Example result
- JPG to PNG: signature and logo
- 2 JPG in · 2 PNG out · transparent backgrounds
- signature_transparent.png
- • From: a phone photo of your signature in blue pen on white paper
- • Background removed: the paper, its shadow and the grain were made fully transparent
- • Ink cleaned: the blue was made even and slightly darker so it does not look faded when placed on a document
- • Cropped tightly to the signature, 1400 × 520 px, so it is easy to size in Word or a PDF
- • Use it to sign PDFs: ask your agent to place it on page 3 of a contract, for example
- logo_transparent.png
- • From: logo.jpg, a dark green logo on a white background
- • The white was removed with a colour key, then edges were smoothed so there is no white fringe on dark backgrounds
- • Checked on white, grey and black previews
- What converting to PNG does not do
- • It does not add quality. A blurry or small JPG stays blurry as a PNG
- • JPG compression leaves small blocks around edges. Your agent cleans these on logos, but for a crisp large logo the original vector file is best
- When to just keep the JPG
- Photos without transparency gain nothing from PNG except a bigger file. Convert only when you need transparency, lossless editing or a tool that requires PNG.
How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and say whether to remove the background.
- Attach the JPGs in todo.is, or send them to your agent on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Your agent converts them and shows a checkerboard preview of the transparent areas.
- Ask for changes like "remove the shadow under the product" or "make the signature black".
Tips for a better result
- For a signature, sign on plain white paper with a dark pen and photograph it in daylight. The cleaner the paper, the cleaner the cut-out.
- AI background removal on photos can change small details. Check hair, fingers and product labels.
- If you have the logo as PDF or SVG, send that instead of a JPG. You will get much sharper edges.
- Your agent remembers your signature PNG, so later you can just say "sign this PDF".
JPG to PNG converter: FAQ
- Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality? No. PNG stops further loss, but it cannot bring back detail the JPG already lost.
- How do I make a JPG background transparent? Ask your agent to remove the background while converting. Plain white backgrounds come off cleanly; photos use AI removal.
- Why is the PNG so much bigger? PNG is lossless, so it stores more data. That is expected, especially for photos.
- Can I use my signature PNG to sign documents? Yes. Your agent can place the PNG on a PDF where you say. Check whether your document needs a certified e-signature.
