PNG to PDF converter that keeps screenshots and designs crisp
PNGs are usually screenshots, slides exported from a design tool or diagrams with fine lines, and a careless conversion makes the text fuzzy. Your todo.is agent turns your PNGs into a PDF without lossy compression, fills transparent areas properly and sizes pages to fit each image.
The prompt
- Turn the attached PNG files into one PDF: [ATTACH THE PNG FILES]. Keep them lossless so text and lines stay sharp. Put transparent areas on [BACKGROUND]. Page size: [PAGE SIZE]. Order them [ORDER]. If I add a caption list, put each caption under its image in small text: [CAPTIONS]. Tell me the final page count and file size.
What to change
- [ATTACH THE PNG FILES]: Attach the PNGs, e.g. screenshots, exported slides, charts or scanned drawings.
- [BACKGROUND]: E.g. "white", "black" or "keep transparent".
- [PAGE SIZE]: E.g. "fit each page to the image size", "A4 portrait" or "16:9 like slides".
- [ORDER]: E.g. "by file name", "by the time I took the screenshots" or "as listed: home, cart, checkout".
- [CAPTIONS]: One caption per image, e.g. "1. Login screen, 2. Error message", or "no captions".
Example result
- PNG to PDF: checkout bug report
- 9 PNG screenshots · 9 pages · lossless · 3.8 MB
- Pages
- • 1. Cart page · 2880 × 1800 px · caption "Cart shows 3 items"
- • 2. Promo code field · 2880 × 1800 px · caption "Code SPRING10 accepted"
- • 3. Payment step · 1170 × 2532 px (phone) · caption "Total did not update"
- • …
- • 9. Error after paying · 1170 × 2532 px · caption "Error 502 after card approval"
- How the PDF was built
- • Lossless: images were placed with PNG-style (Flate) compression, so small UI text has no JPG halos or blur
- • Page size: "fit each page to the image" was used, so desktop screenshots are landscape pages and phone screenshots are tall pages, with no white bars
- • Transparency: two exported icons had transparent backgrounds; they sit on white, so they will not print black
- • Captions: 10 pt grey text under each image, numbered to match the list you gave
- Why PNG to PDF is different from JPG to PDF
- JPG compression is fine for photos, but it smears hard edges like letters, lines and buttons. Keeping PNG data lossless costs a bit more space and keeps every pixel as you captured it.
- Need it smaller?
- Ask for "compress for email". Your agent can reduce colours on flat screenshots, which shrinks them a lot with no visible change.
How to do it with todo.is
- Attach your PNGs and fill in background, page size, order and captions.
- Send it from the todo.is web or Android app, or to your agent in a Slack or Telegram chat.
- Your agent builds a lossless PDF sized to your images.
- Reply "add a title page" or "put two screenshots per page" to change the layout.
Tips for a better result
- Use "fit each page to the image" for screenshots. Forcing them onto A4 adds white bars or shrinks small text.
- Name the files 01, 02, 03 before sending, or list the order, so the PDF tells the story correctly.
- For a design portfolio, ask for a cover page with your name and one line per project.
- Flat screenshots compress very well with fewer colours. Ask for it when a portal rejects a large file.
PNG to PDF converter: FAQ
- Does converting PNG to PDF reduce quality? Not with this prompt. Your agent keeps the image data lossless, so the PDF looks the same as the PNG.
- What happens to transparent backgrounds? They are filled with the colour you choose, white by default, so they look right when printed.
- Can I put several PNGs on one page? Yes. Ask for a grid, such as 2 or 4 images per page, with optional captions.
- Can I convert a PNG to an editable document? If the PNG contains text, your agent can read it with OCR and give you a Word file instead.
