Website change monitor that tells you what changed, in plain words
Most page monitors flag every tiny change, like a new date in the footer or a rotating banner, and then you still have to work out what is new. This prompt has your todo.is agent check the pages you care about on a schedule, ignore the noise you name and send you a short note saying exactly what changed and why it might matter.
The prompt
- Monitor these web pages for changes: [PAGE LINKS]. Check them [HOW OFTEN]. I care about [WHAT TO WATCH FOR]. Ignore changes to [WHAT TO IGNORE]. Each time, compare the page with the version you saved last time. If something I care about changed, message me on [WHERE TO SEND IT] with the page, a before and after of the changed text, and one sentence on what it means. If nothing important changed, do not message me. Keep a change log as a CSV file with date, page and change, and send it to me on the 1st of each month.
What to change
- [PAGE LINKS]: Public pages to watch, e.g. a visa rules page, a competitor’s pricing page or a school admissions page.
- [HOW OFTEN]: e.g. "every day at 8:00", "every 6 hours", or "every Monday". More often uses more credits.
- [WHAT TO WATCH FOR]: e.g. "new deadlines, fee changes and new required documents".
- [WHAT TO IGNORE]: e.g. "the news ticker, cookie banner, footer dates and blog sidebar".
- [WHERE TO SEND IT]: WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord or email.

How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and add the pages, how often to check and what matters to you.
- Paste it into todo.is or send it to your agent on Slack, WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Your agent saves a copy of each page and compares every check against the last one.
- You get a message only when something you care about changes. Reply "also watch this link" to add pages.
Tips for a better result
- Be specific about what matters. "Price, deadline and eligibility changes" gives cleaner alerts than "any change".
- Name the noise. Rotating banners, dates and "related posts" lists cause most false alerts.
- Watch the exact sub-page, not the homepage. A pricing or rules page changes less and means more.
- For pages behind a login, connect your own Chrome with the todo.is Connector so your agent can see them.
website change monitor: FAQ
- How do I get notified when a website changes? Give your agent the page link, a schedule and what kind of change matters. It checks the page each time, compares it with the last copy and messages you when something important changed.
- Can it monitor a page that needs a login? Yes, if you connect your own Chrome with the todo.is Connector extension and you are signed in there. Only watch pages you are allowed to access.
- How often can it check a page? As often as you set, from every hour to once a week. Each check uses some AI credits, so daily is enough for most pages.
- Does it work on pages that load content with JavaScript? Yes. Your agent uses a real browser, so it sees the page the way a visitor does.
