Amazon listing writer that learns from reviews and competitors
On Amazon, your title and five bullets do most of the selling, and shoppers compare you with ten similar products in seconds. This prompt has your todo.is agent read the top competing listings and their reviews, find what buyers care about and complain about, and write a full listing you can paste into Seller Central.
The prompt
- Write an Amazon listing for my product: [PRODUCT DETAILS]. Marketplace: [MARKETPLACE]. Main keyword: "[MAIN KEYWORD]". Find 5 top competing listings for this keyword and read their titles, bullets and the most common points in their reviews, both praise and complaints. Then write: a product title within [TITLE CHARACTER LIMIT] characters with the brand and main keyword near the start; 5 bullet points that start with a short benefit in capitals followed by details, each answering a real buyer question or complaint; a product description of 150 to 250 words; and backend search terms under 250 bytes with no repeats from the title and no competitor brand names. Avoid claims I cannot prove like "best" or health claims. Give me a Word file plus a table of the review insights you used, with links.
What to change
- [PRODUCT DETAILS]: Brand, product, size, materials, what is in the box and what makes it different. Or attach your spec sheet.
- [MARKETPLACE]: e.g. "Amazon.com (US)", "Amazon.co.uk", "Amazon.de in German".
- [MAIN KEYWORD]: What shoppers type, e.g. "insulated water bottle 32 oz".
- [TITLE CHARACTER LIMIT]: Check Seller Central for your category. Many categories use 200; some are lower.
Example result
- Review insights used
- • Most common complaint on competitors: lids leak when the bottle is in a bag
- • Second: paint chips after a few months
- • Praise: keeps drinks cold all day, fits car cup holders
- • Question often asked: "Is it dishwasher safe?"
- Title
- Summit Insulated Water Bottle 32 oz, Leakproof Chug Lid, Stainless Steel, Keeps Cold 24 Hours, Fits Car Cup Holders, Dishwasher Safe Lid, Slate Blue
- Bullet points
- • LEAKPROOF IN YOUR BAG: The chug lid has a silicone seal and a locking loop, so you can toss the bottle in a backpack lying flat without leaks.
- • COLD FOR 24 HOURS: Double-wall vacuum insulation keeps water cold all day and coffee hot for up to 12 hours, with no sweating on the outside.
- • TOUGH POWDER COAT: A thick powder-coat finish resists chips and scratches and gives a non-slip grip.
- • FITS CUP HOLDERS: A slim base fits most car cup holders even at 32 oz, so you can take it on the road.
- • EASY TO CLEAN: The lid is top-rack dishwasher safe; hand wash the bottle to protect the finish. Wide mouth fits ice cubes and a bottle brush.
- Description
- The Summit 32 oz bottle is built for long days: commutes, hikes and gym sessions. We designed it after reading what people disliked about other bottles, mostly leaky lids and chipped paint. The locking chug lid seals tight, the powder coat holds up to daily knocks, and the slim base fits in your car. Fill it with ice in the morning and it will still be cold at night.

How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and add your product details, marketplace and main keyword.
- Paste it into todo.is, or send it with your spec sheet to your agent on WhatsApp.
- Your agent reads competing listings and reviews and writes your title, bullets, description and search terms.
- Paste it into Seller Central, or ask for a version for another marketplace.
Tips for a better result
- Use competitor complaints as your bullets. If buyers hate leaky lids, lead with "leakproof" if yours truly is.
- Put the main keyword and brand at the start of the title, where it shows even on mobile.
- Do not repeat title words in backend search terms. Use the space for synonyms and other phrasings.
- Only claim what you can back up. Amazon may suppress listings with unsupported or medical claims.
Amazon listing writer: FAQ
- How long should an Amazon product title be? Many categories allow up to 200 characters, but some set lower limits, and long titles get cut on mobile. Check your category style guide and keep the key words in the first 80 or so characters.
- How many bullet points can an Amazon listing have? Most listings show 5 bullet points. Each should cover one benefit or answer one buyer question.
- What are backend search terms? They are hidden keywords you add in Seller Central to help your product appear in searches. The limit is usually under 250 bytes, and you should not include competitor brand names.
- Can todo.is upload the listing to Amazon? No. Your agent writes the listing and gives you a file. You paste it into Seller Central yourself.
