An evening wrap-up that closes the day and sets up tomorrow
Ending the workday is hard when loose ends are spread across your inbox, calendar and head. This prompt gives you a daily shutdown routine: your todo.is agent sends an evening wrap-up with what happened today, what is still open, and the first things on tomorrow's plate. You reply with notes and it remembers them for tomorrow morning.
The prompt
- Every weekday at [TIME] ([TIME ZONE]), send me an evening wrap-up on [WHERE TO SEND IT]. Look at today in my Google Calendar and Gmail and tell me: the meetings I had, emails I sent, threads where someone is still waiting for my reply, and anything I promised in an email to do "tomorrow" or "by Friday". Then show tomorrow: my first meeting, anything before [EARLIEST START] and deadlines in the next 2 days. Ask me "Anything to carry over?" and keep my answer as notes for tomorrow's plan. Also remind me of [MY DAILY HABIT]. Keep it short, bullets only, no more than 15 lines.
What to change
- [TIME]: When you want to stop working, e.g. 17:45.
- [TIME ZONE]: Your time zone or city, e.g. "America/Toronto".
- [WHERE TO SEND IT]: WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord or email.
- [EARLIEST START]: A time that would be an early start for you, e.g. 9:00, so you are warned the night before.
- [MY DAILY HABIT]: One end-of-day habit, e.g. "logging my hours in the timesheet" or "a 20-minute walk". Write "nothing" to skip it.

How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and change the time, the early-start rule and your habit.
- Connect Google in todo.is, then paste the prompt on the Today screen or send it to your agent on Telegram.
- Each weekday evening your agent sends the wrap-up and asks what to carry over.
- Reply with your notes; your agent remembers them and you can ask for them in the morning.
Tips for a better result
- Send it 15 minutes before you want to stop, not at the moment you stop. That leaves time to answer the one urgent thread.
- Pair it with a morning briefing and ask the morning one to start with "what you carried over last night".
- Ask it to catch promises like "I will get back to you", which are the easiest things to forget.
- On Fridays, ask for a weekly version with the whole week and the first meetings of Monday.
evening wrap-up: FAQ
- What is an evening wrap-up or shutdown routine? A short end-of-day review: what got done, what is still open and what is first tomorrow. It helps you stop thinking about work once you close the laptop.
- Can it see the tasks in my other to-do apps? It works from your Google Calendar, Gmail and what you tell it. You can paste or forward your task list, or reply with what you finished, and it keeps track.
- Will it reply to the emails it lists? Not on its own. You can ask it to draft replies; drafts are saved in Gmail and nothing is sent without your approval.
