HTML to PDF converter for web pages, receipts and HTML files
You need a web page as a PDF: an article to read offline, a booking confirmation, a receipt, or an HTML report your tool exported. Printing from the browser adds cookie banners, cuts images and wastes pages. Your todo.is agent opens the page in a real browser or converts your HTML file and returns a clean, readable PDF.
The prompt
- Make a PDF of [PAGE OR FILE]. Open it in a browser and wait until everything has loaded. Remove cookie banners, pop-ups, ads, the site menu and the footer, but keep [KEEP]. Use [PAGE SIZE] in [ORIENTATION], keep images, tables and links, and do not cut a table or image in half across pages. Add the page URL and today's date in the footer. Name the file [FILE NAME].pdf and send it to me.
What to change
- [PAGE OR FILE]: A public URL like https://example.com/article, or attach an .html file (with its images in a zip if it has any).
- [KEEP]: E.g. "the comments", "the sidebar table", "only the main article" or "everything".
- [PAGE SIZE]: E.g. "A4" or "US Letter".
- [ORIENTATION]: E.g. "portrait" or "landscape for wide tables".
- [FILE NAME]: E.g. "Article_Remote_Work_Study" or "Booking_Confirmation_June".
Example result
- HTML to PDF: a long article saved for offline reading
- Source: a public article page · 6 pages · A4 portrait
- What your agent did
- • Opened the page in a real browser and scrolled to the end so lazy-loaded images appeared
- • Closed the cookie banner and a newsletter pop-up
- • Removed the top menu, share buttons, 3 ad blocks, "related stories" and the site footer
- • Kept the headline, author line, date, all 5 images with captions and the data table
- • Used a readable text size (11 pt) instead of the site's mobile layout
- Layout
- • Page 1: headline, author, date and the first section
- • Pages 2 to 5: article body; the data table on page 4 fits on one page
- • Page 6: the sources list, with each link still clickable
- • Footer on every page: the page URL, the date saved and "page 3 of 6"
- Converting an HTML file instead of a URL
- • Attach the .html file. If it uses separate images or CSS, attach them as a zip so nothing is missing
- • Your agent renders it with LibreOffice or a browser, whichever keeps your layout better
- • Print styles (@media print) in your HTML are respected, so you control page breaks with CSS if you want
- Limits
- • Pages behind a login need your own Chrome through the todo.is Connector extension, signed in
- • Interactive parts (videos, maps, animations) appear as a still image of their first frame
- • Some sites block automated access; your agent tells you if a page could not be opened
- Reply with another link to save it the same way, or ask for one PDF that combines several pages.
How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt and paste the link or attach the HTML file.
- Send it on the Today screen in todo.is, or message your agent the link on WhatsApp.
- Your agent loads the page in a browser, cleans it up and lays out the PDF.
- Download the file. Ask to merge several saved pages into one PDF, or schedule a weekly snapshot of the same page.
Tips for a better result
- Say "only the main article" for news and blog posts. It cuts the page count roughly in half.
- For receipts and confirmations behind a login, connect your own Chrome with the todo.is Connector so your agent uses your session.
- For wide dashboards or tables, choose landscape so columns are not shrunk or cut.
- Need a record of a page over time? A recurring to-do can save a dated PDF every week.
HTML to PDF converter: FAQ
- How do I save a web page as a PDF without ads? Ask your agent to remove ads, banners and menus before saving. It opens the page in a browser, cleans it up and prints only the content.
- Can I convert an HTML file with CSS and images? Yes. Attach the HTML with its images and CSS in a zip, or use absolute URLs in the file, so everything renders.
- Can it save a page that needs a login? Yes, if you use your own Chrome with the todo.is Connector extension while signed in. Your agent asks before doing anything beyond reading.
- Will the links in the PDF work? Yes. Links stay clickable, and the page URL is printed in the footer for reference.
