Teacher resume that shows your classroom, not just your duties
Principals reading teacher resumes want to see your certification, grade levels and subjects at a glance, then evidence that students learn in your room. Give your todo.is agent the job and your background, and it writes a teaching resume with growth data, strategies and school involvement.
The prompt
- Write my teacher resume for [SCHOOL OR DISTRICT JOB LINK]. Name [YOUR NAME], [CITY], [EMAIL]. Certification: [STATE, CERTIFICATE TYPE, SUBJECTS AND GRADES]. Teaching experience: [PASTE RESUME OR LIST SCHOOLS, GRADES, SUBJECTS, CLASS SIZES AND YEARS]. For each position give grade, subject and school type, then bullets on student growth (test scores, reading levels, pass rates), teaching methods (differentiation, IEP/504 accommodations, classroom management, technology) and work beyond the classroom (clubs, coaching, committees, parent communication). Put Certification right under my name. One to two pages, ATS-friendly, Word file.

How to do it with todo.is
- Change the [brackets] in the to-do to your certification, schools and the job.
- Paste it into todo.is on the Today screen, or send it to your agent on WhatsApp or by email. Attach an old resume if you have one.
- Your agent reads the posting and builds the resume around certification, grades and student results.
- Download the Word file. Ask for a one-page version for a job fair or a version for another subject.
Tips for a better result
- Put certification and endorsements at the very top. Many districts filter on them before reading anything else.
- Use growth numbers you can back up: benchmark scores, reading levels, pass rates or the share of students meeting goals.
- Name the school context (Title I, bilingual, inclusion classroom) so principals see you fit their students.
- First-year teachers: describe student teaching like a job, with grade, subject, units you taught and results.
teacher resume: FAQ
- How long should a teacher resume be? One page for new teachers and up to two pages for experienced teachers with leadership roles, coaching or specialist work.
- What should a first-year teacher put on a resume? Certification status, student teaching with grade and subject, lessons or units you designed, any tutoring or camp work, and relevant coursework or endorsements.
- Should I include a teaching philosophy on my resume? Not as a long paragraph. Put a short summary on the resume and keep the philosophy statement for the application or cover letter.
- Can I make versions for different grade levels? Yes. Ask your agent for an elementary or high school version and it reorders your experience and skills for that level.
