WebP to JPG converter for images saved from the web
Images saved from websites often arrive as WebP, and older apps, print shops and some upload forms will not take them. Your todo.is agent converts any number of WebP files to standard JPGs, fills transparent areas with a colour you choose and keeps the quality you set.
The prompt
- Convert the attached WebP images to JPG: [ATTACH THE WEBP FILES]. Quality [QUALITY]. Fill any transparent areas with [BACKGROUND COLOUR]. If a WebP is animated, [ANIMATED]. [RESIZE]. Keep the original file names with .jpg and send them back in a ZIP.
What to change
- [ATTACH THE WEBP FILES]: Attach .webp files or a ZIP. You can also paste the page link and say which images you need.
- [QUALITY]: E.g. "90" for good quality, "75" for small web files.
- [BACKGROUND COLOUR]: E.g. "white", or a hex code like "#F5F1EA" to match your site.
- [ANIMATED]: E.g. "use the first frame" or "convert it to a GIF instead".
- [RESIZE]: E.g. "keep size", "max 1200 px wide" or "exactly 1000 × 1000 px for my shop".
Example result
- WebP to JPG: 16 product images
- 16 WebP in · 16 JPG out · quality 90 · ZIP 4.2 MB
- What came in
- • 11 photo WebPs (lossy), 800 to 2000 px wide
- • 4 WebPs with transparent backgrounds (product cut-outs)
- • 1 animated WebP (a 3-second rotating view)
- What your agent did
- • Converted every file with Pillow at quality 90 and kept the colour profile
- • Transparent cut-outs: JPG cannot store transparency, so the background was filled with white. Without that step, transparent areas often turn black
- • Animated file: JPG holds one frame, so the first frame was saved. Ask for a GIF or MP4 if you need the motion
- • Resized all images to 1000 × 1000 px for your shop, centred with white padding where the photo was not square
- • Kept the file names: blue-mug.webp became blue-mug.jpg
- Sizes
- • Before: 2.1 MB in total (WebP is very efficient)
- • After: 4.2 MB (JPG needs about twice the space for the same look)
- WebP to JPG or WebP to PNG?
- Pick JPG for photos you will print, upload to marketplaces or email. Pick PNG if you need to keep the transparent background.
How to do it with todo.is
- Copy the prompt, pick the quality and background colour, and attach the WebP files.
- Send it in the todo.is app, or forward the files to your agent on Telegram or Discord.
- Your agent converts them and returns a ZIP of JPGs.
- Ask for other sizes, like "also 400 px thumbnails", in the same chat.
Tips for a better result
- If a WebP has a transparent background, choose the fill colour on purpose. White suits most shops; match your site colour for banners.
- Only download and convert images you have the right to use. A WebP from a stock or brand site is still under copyright.
- Marketplaces often ask for square images. Ask for padding instead of cropping so no part of the product is cut off.
- WebP is smaller than JPG. Keep the WebP originals for your website and use JPGs where WebP is not accepted.
WebP to JPG converter: FAQ
- Why can I not open a WebP file? Some older programs and upload forms do not support WebP. Converting to JPG makes it open almost everywhere.
- Does WebP to JPG lose quality? A little, since both are compressed. At quality 90 the change is very hard to see.
- What happens to transparency? JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the colour you choose. Use PNG to keep it.
- Can I convert animated WebP? JPG keeps only one frame. Ask for GIF or MP4 to keep the animation.
