Word to PDF converter for clean, print-ready files
A CV, invoice or report looks different on every computer until it is a PDF. Attach your Word files and your todo.is agent turns them into PDFs with LibreOffice, checks fonts and page breaks, and can merge several documents into one file.
The prompt
- Convert the attached Word file(s) to PDF: [ATTACH THE .DOCX FILES]. Keep the fonts, images, headers, footers and clickable links. [PAGE OPTIONS]. Check every page of the PDF for a heading stuck at the bottom of a page, an empty last page or a font that changed, and fix it before you send it. If I sent several files, [ONE OR SEPARATE]. Name it [FILE NAME].pdf.
What to change
- [ATTACH THE .DOCX FILES]: Attach one or more .docx or .doc files. Google Docs work too if you download them as .docx first.
- [PAGE OPTIONS]: E.g. "A4 size", "US Letter", "add page numbers bottom right" or "no changes".
- [ONE OR SEPARATE]: E.g. "merge them into one PDF in this order: cover, report, appendix" or "keep separate PDFs".
- [FILE NAME]: E.g. "Maya_Chen_CV" or "Q3_Report_Final".
Example result
- Word to PDF: Q3 report pack
- 3 files in · 1 PDF out · 22 pages · A4 · 2.4 MB
- Files merged, in this order
- • Cover.docx → page 1
- • Q3_Report.docx → pages 2 to 18
- • Appendix_Data.docx → pages 19 to 22
- Checks your agent ran
- • Fonts: the report uses Calibri and Georgia. Both were embedded, so the PDF looks the same on any device
- • Page breaks: the heading "Regional results" sat alone at the bottom of page 7. Your agent added a page break before it
- • Blank pages: the appendix ended with an empty page from a stray section break; removed
- • Links: 6 web links and the table of contents links still work
- • Images: charts kept at full resolution, so they print sharply
- Extras added
- • Page numbers bottom right, starting from page 2
- • PDF title set to "Q3 Report", so it shows in browser tabs
- If you need it smaller
- For email, ask for a compressed version. A 2.4 MB report like this usually shrinks well with charts kept readable.
How to do it with todo.is
- Fill in the page options and whether to merge, then attach your Word files.
- Send it from the todo.is app or forward the files to your agent on WhatsApp, Telegram or email.
- Your agent converts each file, checks the pages and sends back the PDF.
- Ask for changes like "start numbering at the cover" or "make it Letter size" and get a new PDF in a minute.
Tips for a better result
- If your document uses an unusual font, attach the font file or say which font to fall back to. Missing fonts are the main cause of layout changes.
- Accept or reject tracked changes and delete comments first, unless you want them visible in the PDF.
- For a CV, ask for a one-page check: your agent tells you if a line spills onto page 2.
- Send a whole folder of contracts at once and ask for one PDF per file with the same names.
Word to PDF converter: FAQ
- Does converting Word to PDF change the layout? Usually not. Layout changes mostly come from fonts that are not installed, and your agent checks the pages and tells you if anything moved.
- Can I combine several Word documents into one PDF? Yes. Say the order you want and your agent converts each file and merges them into a single PDF.
- Will links and the table of contents still work? Yes, web links and internal table of contents links stay clickable in the PDF.
- Can I password-protect the PDF? Yes. Add "protect it with a password I choose" to the prompt and give the password in your message.
